Muthuvella tastes success

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, AUG. 24. Muthuvella Cricket Academy of Sri Lanka tasted success in its second match of the LCA international cricket tournament at the LNCPE ground here on Tuesday.

The Sri Lankans defeated Loyola CA by 67 runs to gain revenge over the host which defeated the visiting side in the first encounter.

Batting first, the Sri Lankan side piled up 245 before being dismissed in the 37th over. The target proved tough for the host which managed just 178.

The scores: Muthuvella CA 245 in 36.3 overs (Buddhika 78, Yohan 42, Deepak Murali four for 45) bt Loyola CA 178 in 36 overs (Pradyot 45, Suresh Krishnamoorthy 40, Tharaka three for 40). — Our Sports Reporter
