Around the City

Spell of rain likely

The sky will be partly cloudy on Wednesday. A spell of rain or thundershowers is likely towards the evening, according to the weather forecast.

On Tuesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 30.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 52 per cent. At the Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 29.5 degrees Celsius and 18.8 degrees Celsius respectively. The relative humidity was 57 per cent.

Campaign

The students of Mount Carmel College are organising a "Campaign against Domestic Violence" on August 25 and 26 at the college. Members of women's organisations, activists, lawyers, housewives and police officers will attend. The programme will begin at 9.30 a.m. on August 25th with a talk show.

Upakarma

The Brahmana Seva Samithi, HAL II Stage, Indiranagar, will organise the annual Upakarma programmes as follows: Rig Upakarma on August 28 at NDA Kalyana Mandira, 13th Main, HAL II Stage from 7.30 a.m. to 9 a.m. For further details contact Ph: 98861-93144. Yajur Upakarma will be held on August 29 at Sri Rama Temple, 13th main, West of 100 feet Road, in two batches, one at 8 a.m. and another at 9.30 a.m. Further details may be had on phone 25356370. For participants of Yajur Upakarma, a "Samaradhana" has been arranged on August 29 at 12.30 p.m.

Programme

Canara Bank, in association with the Integrated Multipurpose Recreation and Hobbies Centre, will organise a three-day training programme from August 29 for parents and caretakers of mentally-challenged children. Classes
