Tirupati
By Our Special Correspondent
TIRUPATI, AUG. 25. Inhabitants of Tarakarama Nagar, mostly comprising working class people, today took out a procession through the streets of Tirupati protesting against the alleged hooliganism of land-grabbers who removed even survey stones after plouging up the land.
Rally to RDO office
Inhabitants of the colony under construction at Karakambadi off Tirupati town gathered under the banner of the Left-oriented People's Front and took a rally to the RDO's office here to submit a memorandum to the officer highlighting their travails and the lack of even basic civic amenities in their colony. Among other things they demanded the re-erection of the survey stones and provision of water, electricity, road facilities in the colony besides construction of 6,000 houses under the VAMBAY programme.
Court order violated
In yet another land-related case, even the status quo ante orders issued by the Principal Junior Civil Judge, Tirupati, early this month, were said to have been violated and huts put up in a site situated near the Jyothi theatre here by some unauthorised persons reportedly on the basis of oral permission given to them by the RDO and the MRO.
