SPIC-TNCA XI in semifinals

CHENNAI, AUG. 25. SPIC-TNCA XI and TNCA President's XI carved out facile wins to enter the semifinals of the Sahara-Buchi Babu all India invitation cricket tournament on the final day of the league phase here on Wednesday.

The scores: At Mayajaal: SPIC-TNCA XI 393 bt Assam 209 and 139 for seven in 45 overs (Sib Shankar Roy 39 not out, R. Naresh three for 45) Pts: SPIC-TNCA XI: 8; Assam 0.

At ICL-Guru Nanak: TNCA President's XI 226 and 244 for five bt Delhi DCA 193 and 172 in 34.2 overs (T. Mayank 47, Pradeep Chawla 40, M.R. Shreenivas three for 20, Raghuram three for 57, Sunil Viswanathan three for 24). Pts: TNCA President's XI 8; Delhi DCA 0.

At SRMC: Maharashtra 241 and 168 for seven in 45 overs (Nikhil Pande 42 not out, G. Vignesh five for 70) bt Districts XI 122 and 238 in 40.5 overs (M.K. Shivakumar 69 not out, Suyash Burkul three for 62, Kiran Adhav five for 93). Pts: Maharashtra 8; Districts 0.

At CPT-IP: Sahara 266 and 167 in 46.2 overs (Prasanth Malviya 42, Murtaza Lodhgasr four for 52, Ritam Kundu four for 56) lost to CAB President's XI 243 and 191 for nine in 44.5 overs (Writhiman Saha 80 not out, A.W. Zaidi four for 35, Ajit Chandela three for 83). Pts: CAB 8; Sahara 0.

At RKM Viveka-SICAL: Bihar 143 and 118 in 35.3 overs (Keshav Kumar 44, Azhar Sheikh six for 45) lost to Vidarbha 235 and 28 for one in 8.1 overs. Pts: Vidarbha 8; Bihar 0.
