MYSORE, AUG. 25. The Vidyavardhaka First Grade College here will introduce Master of Business Administration (MBA) and other courses shortly. This is part of the management's long-term plans for the institution, which celebrated its silver jubilee in 2003. The institution has applied for assessment by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the University Grants Commission (UGC). P.M. Chikkaboraiah, president, Vidyavardhaka Educational Institutions, told presspersons today that a team from the NAAC would inspect and assess the college on September 2 and 3. The NAAC peer team comprised V. Ramakrishnayya, former Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University, Hyderabad; K.K. Rajappan Achari (member-coordinator) from Kottayam, and C. Gopinathan Pillai (member) from Changancherry, Kerala. Mr. Chikkaboraiah said the college conducted total quality management workshops every year to the first year degree students to improve their mental ability. Mr. Chikkaboraiah said the placement cell of the institution would arrange campus interviews by various organisations for the benefit of students. Special lectures on current events by experts were being held periodically. The grievances' redressal cell of the college would offer solutions to the problems faced by students, he added.
