KALPETTA, AUG. 26. A seven-member Central team today visited the drought-hit Wayanad district to assess the damage to cash crops even as one more farmer committed suicide owing to mounting debts. The Union Agriculture Joint Secretary, Satish Chander, was leading the team. According to official sources, the team, after visiting several places in the district, held discussions with district officials and representatives of various farmers' organisations and plantation owners. PTI Our Staff Reporter writes from Palakkad: The State Cabinet sub-committee set up to tackle the problems of farmers will hold discussions with the Central team in Palakkad on Friday. The team reached Palakkad today after its visit to Wayanad.
