CHAMARAJANAGAR, AUG. 26. A partial bandh was observed here today in response to the call given by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to pressure the State Government to withdraw the cases booked against the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Uma Bharti. Activists of the BJP, the Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad led by the President of the district unit, Biligiriranga Nayak, took out a procession in the city. They demanded that the State Government be dismissed. Many hotels, shops, and other business establishments remained closed. However, schools and colleges, and banks functioned as usual. The activists submitted a memorandum to the Governor through the Deputy Commissioner.
