280 couples tie the knot

BELLARY, AUG. 27. As many as 280 couples entered into wedlock at the mass marriage organised by the Ennoble group at the Bellary District Athletics Association's ground here on Friday.

The ceremony was organised under the leadership of the Bellary MLA, Sriramulu.

The couples were married in the presence of hundreds of people.

A host of leaders including Sushma Swaraj, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Union Minister; B.S. Yediyurappa, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly; Anant Kumar, President of the BJP State unit; S. Bangarappa, former Chief Minister; G. Karunakar Reddy, Bellary MP; and G. Somashekar Reddy, municipal president, attended the ceremony.

Ms. Swaraj handed over the "thali" to the couples.

G. Janardhan Reddy, President of the BJP district unit and managing director of Ennoble India, welcomed the gathering.
