Chennai triumphs

CHENNAI, AUG. 27. Chennai, with 33 points in the junior section and 24 points in the sub-junior category, emerged winner in the junior (boys & girls) and sub-junior (boys and girls) sections of the 17th Tamil Nadu State Taekwondo championship at Vignesh Mahal, Sungam, Coimbatore, recently. Chennai clinched 10 gold medals, 8 silvers and 13 bronzes.

The results: Gold medal winners: T. Manoj (light heavy, sub-junior boys), S.R. Jaidurga (light heavy, sub-junior girls), Aaron Ernest (welter, junior boys), T. Suresh (heavy, junior boys), L.S. Neeraja (middle, junior girls), Steffi Alexander (heavy, junior girls), J. Sharmila (welter, junior girls), K. Malini Devi (light heavy, junior girls), M. Aarthi (feather weight, junior girls), K. Jawahar Babu (light, senior boys).
