Priyanka, Arun and Jitender set records

NEW DELHI, AUG. 27. Priyanka Bhanot (girls under-16 discus), Jitender (boys under-18 200m) and Arun Goel (boys under-20 200m) set meet records on the second day of the Delhi State athletics championships at the Nehru Stadium here on Friday.

Priyanka threw the disc to a distance of 38.61 metres to better the previous mark of 32.00m. Jitender clocked 21.7s against the existing record of 22.3s while Arun timed 21.6s to clip 0.3 secs off the previous mark.

Other winners of the day included Monika Joon (girls under-20 shot put, 11.05m), Ravinder (boys under-18 1500m, 4:09.6), Kuldeep Singh (boys under-16 long jump 6.04m), Sunny Sarkaria (men 200m, 21.7s, Raju Ram (men 1500, 4:05.3) and Sandeep (men high jump, 2.05m).
