HYDERABAD, AUG. 28. The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) State committee has sought the intervention of the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy to ensure that the contract employees in the medical and health, municipal and power sectors were not removed from service. S. Veeraiah, CITU general secretary, in a statement issued here on Saturday said the services of the contract employees were being dispensed with following pressure exerted by some MLAs to allegedly `accommodate their candidates.' The excuse was that the employees were appointed during the Telugu Desam regime, he said.
