Inquiry into stampede today

VIJAYAWADA, AUG. 28. The one-man commission of Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA), R.C. Samal, will conduct an inquiry into the stampede that occurred at the causeway near the concrete apron of the Prakasam Barrage, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and Monday at the State Guest House in Vijayawada, according to the Pushkaram special officer, P. Bhanu Murthy.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, Mr. Murthy said that those who were interested or those who had knowledge about the incident and the circumstances leading to it could depose before the commission.
