Cuddapah
By Our Staff Reporter
CUDDAPAH, AUG. 29. The Joint Collector, G. Jayalakshmi, on Sunday exhorted sportspersons to draw inspiration from the ace hockey player, Dyanchand. She inaugurated the National Sports Day celebrations coinciding with the 99th birth anniversary of Dyanchand at Zion College of Physical Education here and flagged off a rally by college students. She paid rich tributes to the player and said he proved the mettle of Indian sportspersons on the international arena. Lauding the college correspondent, K. Rajarathnam Isaac, for organising the sports day, she lamented that the District Sports Authority failed to moot such celebrations. Sportspersons went in a rally and formed a human chain at Cuddapah One Town circle. Mr. Isaac, the Rotary Club president, O. Jayamani, students and teachers participated.
