MAHABUBNAGAR, AUG. 29. Two persons were beaten up on suspicion of practising sorcery at Polkepahad village of Gopalpet mandal last night. The victims, who managed to escape from the captivity of villagers, are undergoing treatment in the Wanaparthy area hospital.

According to the police, over 500 villagers gathered at the village centre last night and held Kotaiah and Niranjan captive on charge of

practising sorcery as a result of which they alleged that a person in each family in the village fell sick.
