HYDERABAD, AUG. 29. The TDP leader, N. Janardhan Reddy, wants the Congress Government to give a free ride to all bus passengers. He made this demand as a tongue-in-cheek retort to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who compared the illegal farm power connections to an overloaded bus that would not move until the ticketless passengers sitting on the roof were off-loaded. The TDP leader reminded Dr. Reddy: "you have said the bus will not have a conductor and all will be allowed to travel freely. How can you discriminate against the ticketless passengers when the bus has no conductor and no tickets. You should provide another bus to accommodate all instead of leaving behind some passengers." The Chief Minister on Saturday stated that the Government would continue with the programme to disconnect illegal power connections to ensure that transformers were not overloaded. Citing the example of off-loading ticketless passengers, he said that the justice done to passengers with valid tickets would be done to genuine farmers too.
