Broiler prices down

COIMBATORE: The farm gate price of broiler in the district has declined to Rs. 26 a kg in the last few days after recording a price of about Rs. 30 a kg in the first four months of this financial year. "The prices could go up by a rupee or two in the next few days". However, it was not expected to rise substantially for at least one more month, the Broiler Co-ordination Committee President, R. Lakshmanan, said. He pointed out that the broiler price fluctuation was seasonal and varied according to the demand. The raw material prices were expected to decline in a couple of months, which would bring down the production cost.
