THENI, AUG.30. The Collector, Sunil Paliwal, today said the district administration had taken up development works at an estimated cost of Rs.1.43 crores in Cumbum taluk. Addressing a review committee meeting held in the Cumbum panchayat union office, he said checkdams, irrigation tanks, thrashing floors, katcha houses and sanitary complexes at Samanthipuram, Kullappagoundenpatti and Narayanathevanpatti would be constructed under this project. He advised officials to complete the work within scheduled time to enable the people to use the facilities. The Block Development Officer, K. Kadiresan, the Assistant Block Development Officer, S. Mariappan, and others participated in the meeting.
