Vatnani wins

VISAKHAPATNAM, AUG. 30. M. Srinivasa Rao of Crystal Family Club, Hyderabad and Lucky Vatnani of Hyderabad won the billiards and snooker titles respectively, in the State ranking tournament held in Kakinada last week.

The results:

Billiards: final: M. Srinivasa Rao bt K. Vijay Kumar (CFC, Hyd.) 4-2. Third place: John Bosco (Hyd.) bt K. Someswara Rao (Literary Association, Kakinada) 2-1. (Semifinals): Srinivasa Rao bt John Bosco 3-1, Someswara Rao bt Vijay Kumar 3-1. (Quarterfinals): Vijay Kumar bt T.N. Pradeep (Hyd.) 3-1, Someswara Rao bt Nizamuddin (Hyd.) 4-1, Srinivasa Rao bt S. Praveen (Hyd.) 3-1, John Bosco bt Durga Prasad (Rajahmundry) 4-2.

Snooker: final: Lucky Vatnani bt John Bosco 5-2. Third place: Nizamuddin bt M. Ravi Shankar (Vijayawada) 2-1. (Semifinals): Lucky Vatnani bt Nizamuddin 4-1, John Bosco bt Ravi Shankar 4-3. (Quarterfinals): John Bosco bt I.V. Rajiv (KKD) 4-1, Ravi Shankar bt Praveen 5-2, Lucky Vatnani bt Venugopal (Hyd.) 4-0, Nizamuddin bt Jude Alexander (Hyd.).
