This Day That Age
Any representation for the reduction of licence fees for radio sets would be considered sympathetically by the Government, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. B.V. Keskar told the Lok Sabha on August 31. He added that to make people radio-conscious it had been decided to observe a "Radio Month" in October this year, when it was proposed to launch a nation-wide drive using all media of publicity. According to latest figures, the total number of all types of radio licences in force at the end of December 1953 was 8,37,749.
