3 killed in Balochistan blast

By B. Muralidhar Reddy

ISLAMABAD: At least three persons were killed and several injured on Tuesday as a bomb exploded in the main market in Qalat town in Balochistan, 150 km from the state capital, Quetta. According to police, the bomb had been planted in a sweet shop in the main market of the town. So far no one has claimed responsibility for the incident and the police suspect Baloch extremist groups' involvement. For several weeks now, Balochistan has been the theatre of unrest. Baloch nationalists of various hues are up in arms against the Federal government demanding greater autonomy.
