Dadabhai Memorial Award for Badrinath

CHENNAI, AUG. 31. Renowned ophthalmologist and chairman of Sankara Nethralaya, S.S. Badrinath, is the recipient of the Dadabhai Naoroji Memorial Award for 2004.

The award, comprising Rs. 1 lakh and a silver plaque, was given to Dr. Badrinath for advancing the interests of the country in the field of medical biotechnology related to eye diseases, according to a release from the Dadabhai Naoroji Memorial Prize Fund.

The earlier awardees include J.R.D. Tata, Nani A. Palkhivala, Satyajit Ray, M.S. Subbulakshmi, Salim Ali and R.A. Mashelkar.
