NEW DELHI, AUG. 31 The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of a news report, which appeared in a Telugu daily on August 11, alleging that a large number of children had died at a hospital in Hyderabad. The report said 227 children, of whom 163 were infants, had died at the Niloufer Hospital in June while in July 274 children, of whom 188 were infants, had died. Observing that if the report was true, it raised the issue of rights violation, the NHRC Chairperson, A.S.
