SHIMLA, AUG 31 . A BJP delegation led by former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and state party president Suresh Bhardwaj submitted a memorandum today to the President through the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Justice (retd.) V.S.Kokje, protesting the `anti-people' policies of the United Progressive Alliance Government in the Centre. On the Uma Bharti issue, the party has requested the President to direct the Central and the Karnataka Governments to withdraw the false cases instituted 10 years back and revived after a decade. She should be immediately released, the memorandum said. The party has demanded restoration of the plaque of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar in the Cellular Jail in Port Blair and sought Union Petroleum Minister Mani Shankar Aiyyar's apology for his remarks against Veer Savarkar. The BJP has also demanded that the Prime Minister should remove all the `tainted' Ministers from his Council of Ministers.
