It's family rule, alleges TDP

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, AUG. 31. The Telugu Desam Party has accused the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, of `foisting family rule' on people forcing his brother, Vivekananda Reddy, to resign his Cuddapah Lok Sabha seat to pave the way for his son, Jaganmohan Reddy.

The TDP leaders -- C. Ramachandraiah and K. Vidyadher Rao -- at a press conference on Tuesday said that Dr. Reddy was making a `mockery' of people's mandate by forcing the Cuddapah Lok Sabha by-election.

At another press conference, TDP leaders from Kurnool district, after a meeting at the residence of Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, decided to bury the hatchet and work together for the party. This would boost the TDP chances in the coming municipal and mandal elections, the leaders felt.
