CPI unhappy with new policy

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, AUG. 31. The new foreign trade policy has evoked protests from the Communist Party of India (CPI).

The party's national secretary, D. Raja told The Hindu that the decision to allow import of second - hand capital goods without any age bar could result in dumping of capital goods into the country, thereby adversely affecting the domestic industry. Similarly, the decision to allow import of seeds was worrying as the country had experienced controversies over Bt cotton.
