CC&FC, Kolkata Police in semifinals

KOLKATA, AUG. 31. Calcutta Cricket & Football Club (CC&FC) and Kolkata Police joined Bombay Gymkhana and Chennai Cheetahs in the semifinals of the main plate of the Hutch all-India and South Asia rugby tournament at the CC&FC ground here on Tuesday.

The host thrashed Delhi 26-5 for a meeting with Bombay Gymkhana in the last four stage, while Kolkata Police downed Future Hope 7-5 and would take on the Chennai outfit in the other game on Thursday.

In a one-sided game, Faizal, Sajid, Deepak Mandody and Nikhilesh Jhingan had one try each. Christopher Thomas had three conversions to take the score to 26. Abhinav Chauhan got the lone try for Delhi. — Our Special Correspondent
