BJYM demand

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, AUG. 31. The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has asked the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, not to allocate the Education portfolio to the Indian Union Muslim League. In a fax message to Mr. Chandy today, the BJYM wanted the portfolio to be allocated to a person who was above communal bias. The Akhila Bharatiya Pathiyan Maha Jana Sabha wanted the Chief Minister to handle the SC/ST portfolio himself.

Meanwhile, the Akhila Kerala Pattikajathi-Pattikavarga Aikya Vedi wanted the Devikulam MLA, A.K. Moni, to be made a Minister.

The organisation sent fax messages to this effect to the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, the Chief Minister and the KPCC president, Thennala Balakrishnan, among others.
