CHENNAI, AUG. 31. Seven fishermen, who went missing from Kasimedu after putting out to the sea on July 26, have been traced in Chittagong, Bangladesh, a couple of days ago. The Indian Coast Guard had received information about their whereabouts on Monday, Arun Kumar Singh, its Director General, said. He disclosed that discussions were going on with Bangladesh Coast Guard to secure their release. The seven, who reached Chittagong on August 29, were being interrogated by the Bangladesh security agencies. Vice-Admiral Singh, addressing a press meet on board the Coast Guard ship Sarang, said in the absence of sophisticated navigation aids, many fishermen stray into foreign waters.
"Unlike on land, there is no clear cut boundary," he said, describing such incidents as "a human problem."
