THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, AUG. 31. The AITUC city secretary, P. S. Naidu, in a fax message sent to the Union Railway Minister, Lalu Prasad, appealed that the change in the timings of Kanyakumari-Mumbai Jayanti Janata and Island Express trains be withdrawn. Hundreds of office-goers and students from the city, bound for places from Kollam to Chengannur, depend on the Jayanti Janata Express, which starts from here at 7-25 a.m. to reach workplaces and colleges on time. There are also several students who travel in this train on season ticket. The change in train timings brought about by Railways would put these regular commuters to much trouble, Mr. Naidu has said in his message.
