THIRUVANANTHEPURAM, AUG. 31. The Holistic Medicine and Stress Research Unit of the Medical College Hospital is conducting regular yoga and meditation courses for the public under the supervision of the doctors of modern medicine. The 15-day course is helpful in alleviating stress, depression, anxiety, hypertensive disorders, asthma and diabetes. The next batch begins on September 1, 4 p.m. and the venue will be the Medicine OP hall. A Sunday batch begins on September 5, at 9 a.m. Details can be had over phone on 2528300/2473681.

Pre-paid

The BSNL, Telecom district, Thiruvananthapuram, has decided to start the booking of pre-paid cellular connections at the office of the Neyyattinkara Telecom Sub-division at Ponnaram Poovar road for the convenience of the consumers of Neyyattinkara taluk. The booking will start on September 1 at 10 a.m.

War widows honoured

The Army Wives' Welfare Association honoured 12 war widows residing in the city, at a function held at the Pangode Military Centre on Tuesday. Sarah Johnson, the president of BISON AWWA was the chief guest. A get-together of all families residing in the Pangode military centre was also organised.

Eye donation

The Indian Medical Association's city branch organised an awareness programme here on Tuesday as part of the observation of Eye Donation fortnight. About 150 persons took part in the programme. Those willing to donate their eyes should contact IMA over the phone no. 2304046.
