Sampark Kranti Express soon

HYDERABAD, AUG. 31. The stage is set for the Sampark Kranti Express - no. 2707/2708, Secunderabad-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Secunderabad, to roll out. The South Central Railway (SCR) has announced the `abstract timings' of the tri-weekly superfast express, but the date for the inaugural run is yet to be finalised.

Timings announced

Announcing the `abstract timings', the Chief Operation Manager, H.G. Sharma, said the Train no. 2707 would leave Secunderabad at 6.30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and reach Hazrat Nizamuddin at 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

On the return, train no. 2708 will leave Hazrat Nizamuddin at 7.25 a.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and reach Secunderabad at 10.30 a.m. the next day.

The superfast train will have only four halts - Kazipet, Ramagundam, Sirpur Kagaznagar and Balharshah.

It will have 18 coaches, including 8 three-tier second class, 1 three-tier air-conditioned, 1 two-tier air-conditioned, 4 general coaches and a pantry car.

Detailing other changes in services, he said that train no. 7603/7604, Kachiguda-Prasanthi Nilayam-Kachiguda Express would continue to run up to Yeshwantapur in Bangalore, while train no. 7605/7606 Nanded-Lokamanya Tilak Terminus-Nanded, Nandigram Express will be extended to and from the Chatrapathi Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai.

The train no. 6309/6310, Ernakulam-Patna-Ernakulam Express will be made bi-weekly from the existing weekly mode, from a later date. Train no. 5623, Ernakulam-Guwahati Weekly Express will run on the path of train no. 6323, Thiruvananthapuram-Howrah Express, between Gudur and Visakhapatnam. The train no. 2077/2078 Madras Egmore-Vijayawada-Madras Egmore, Jan Shatabdi Express will run from Chennai Central instead of Chennai Egmore from September 1.
