e-registry of blood donors launched

CHENNAI, AUG. 31. The e-registry of voluntary blood donors that will also help monitor blood stocks in the Government General Hospital was formally launched on Monday. The registry will be later extended to all the 14 government-run blood banks in the State.

The personal details and date of last donation of a donor will be included in the registry. The blood will be tested for infectious diseases before being stored.
