Cheran and Nilagiri Express timings revised

COIMBATORE, AUG. 31 . The Coimbatore - Chennai Cheran Express, (train no. 2674) would leave Coimbatore at 10 p.m. instead of 11.05 p.m. The revised timing is applicable from today i.e., September 1, 2004 when the new Southern Railway timetable comes into effect.

The Cheran Express is being speeded up thus reducing the running hours by 25 minutes. From Chennai, the Cheran Express (train no. 2673) would depart at 10.10 p.m. instead of 9.45 p.m., and would arrive at 6.15 a.m. instead of 6.20 a.m.

Time reduced by 20 mins

The Chennai - Mettupalayam Blue Mountain/Nilagiri Express, (train no. 2671) has been speeded up to reduce running hours by 20 minutes. It would leave Chennai at 9 p.m., instead of 8.30 p.m.

The Blue Mountain/Nilagiri Express between Mettupalayam and Chennai (train no. 2672 would reach Coimbatore at 8.30 p.m. and leave for Chennai from there at 9 p.m.

Rameshwaram Express between Coimbatore and Rameshwaram, train no. 6715, (curtailed up to Madurai because of gauge conversion) would leave Coimbatore at 10.45 p.m. instead of 10.10 p.m. Coimbatore - Chennai Intercity Express (train no. 2680) would leave Coimbatore at 6.30 a.m., instead of 6.15 a.m.

Mumbai-bound train

Similarly, the Kanyakumari - Mumbai Express (train no. 1082) would arrive here (Coimbatore) at 7.55 p.m. and depart at 8 p.m., instead of 5.50 p.m. and 6 p.m. Train no. 1081 (Mumbai - Kanyakumari Express) would arrive here at 00.05 a.m. and leave at 00.10 a.m. instead of 1.05 a.m. and 1.10 a.m.

Train no. 6525, Kanyakumari - Bangalore (Island Express) would arrive at Coimbatore at 10.35 p.m. and depart at 10.40 p.m., hitherto it was arriving Coimbatore at 7.50 p.m. and leaving at 7.55 p.m. Train no. 6526 from Bangalore - Kanyakumari (Island Express) instead of arriving and leaving Coimbatore at 4.50 a.m., and 04.55 a.m., it would arrive and depart Coimbatore at 05.10 a.m. and 05.15 a.m.

Train nos. 6867/6868 between Tiruchirapalli and Mangalore has been changed as 6667/6668. It would arrive here at 7.45 p.m. and depart at 7.50 p.m. instead of 11.40 a.m. and 11.45 a.m. In the return direction, it would arrive here at 6 a.m. and depart at 6.05 a.m. towards Tiruchirapalli instead of 3.50 p.m. and 03.55 p.m.

Train nos. 2625/2626 running between Trivandrum - New Delhi - Trivandrum (Kerala Express) has been speeded up by 20 minutes and timings would vary accordingly.

The numbers of Trivandrum - Hyderabad, Sabari Express - Train nos. 7027/7028 and Ernakulam - Hyderabad, Sabari Express - Train nos. 7029/7030 have been changed as 7231/7232 and 7229/7230.

West Coast to skip Coimbatore

The train nos. 6627/6628 between Chennai Central - Mangalore - Chennai Central (West Coast Express) has been changed to 2667/2668. It would be diverted via Irugur and Podanur skipping Coimbatore Junction.

It would not stop at Tirupur. Train no. 6627 from Chennai - Mangalore would arrive at Podanur at 00.05 a.m. instead of 8.00 p.m., in the return direction it would arrive at Podanur at 00.10 a.m. instead of 6.10 a.m.

Change in stops

Passengers from Bommidi, Tirupur, Coimbatore are provided the with following trains; Coimbatore - Chennai - Coimbatore Intercity Express (train nos. 2679/2680) and Tiruchirapalli - Mangalore Express (train nos. 6667/6668).

Train no. 2679 would stop at Bommidi at 6.35 p.m. and in the return direction train no. 2680 would stop at Bommidi at 9.00 a.m.

The Tiruchirapalli - Mangalore Express (train no. 6667) would stop at Tirupur, Coimbatore at 6.25 p.m. and 7.50 p.m. Mangalore - Tiruchirapalli Express (train no. 6668) would stop at Coimbatore and Tirupur at 6.35 a.m. and 7.20 a.m.

Intercity Express

Coimbatore - Chennai Intercity Express (train no. 2679) would stop at 8.45 p.m. and 9.55 p.m. at Tirupur and Coimbatore. Coimbatore - Chennai Intercity Express (train no. 2680) would stop at Coimbatore and Tirupur at 6.15 a.m. and 6.55 a.m.

Train nos. 6607/6608 between Erode and Chennai Egmore would leave Erode at 6.15 p.m. and it would arrive at Chennai Egmore at 5.15 a.m. In the return direction, it would leave Chennai Egmore at 10.00 p.m., and arrive Erode at 09.10 a.m.
