Partly cloudy sky forecast

The sky will be partly cloudy on Wednesday, according to the forecast for Bangalore. On Tuesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 29.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 19.9 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 51 per cent.

At the airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 29 degrees Celsius and 19.7 degrees Celsius, respectively. The relative humidity was 44 per cent.

Teachers' quiz

The National Hill View Public School has organised an inter-school teachers' quiz, "Qwiz 2004." Giri Pickbrain Balasubramaniam will be the quizmaster. The contest, which will be held at the school premises on September 2, will have a preliminary round and a final round. There is no entry fee. More information is available on phone (5668 0067).

Exhibition

The Bangalore Association for Science Education (BASE) has organised a three-day science exhibition, "Science in Action," from September 3 to 5 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium.

About 30 experiments covering a wide range of concepts will be on display. Resonance, air pressure, gears, Fleming's left-hand rule and static electricity are among them. There is no entry fee. More details are available from planetarium on phone (2226 6084/2220 3234).

Pranic healing

Sri Vaibhava Pranic Healing Centre has organised a three-day free "pranic healing" workshop from September 3 to 5 for persons with cancer, Parkinson's diseases, kidney problems, high blood pressure, diabetes and mental diseases.
