LIC's Ernakulam division gets top position

KOCHI: The Ernakulam division of LIC of India has attained the top position among the 100 divisions in respect of total first premium collection. Disclosing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, the Senior Divisional Manager, M. R. Kumar, said Rs. 72.50 crores were collected as on August 15. The growth rate in first premium was 194.75 per cent. The major contribution in this account comes from the Unit-linked plan, Bhima Plus, with a contribution of Rs. 40.35 crores (55.65 per cent). LIC has tied up with Corporation Bank, UCO Bank, Allahabad Bank, Indian Overseas Bank and the State-owned Kerala State Financial Enterprises (KSFE) to sell insurance products. A total of 21 corporates are doing new business for Ernakulam division now, according to him.
