CHENNAI, SEPT. 1. Air Deccan, which began its Airbus-320 services between Bangalore-Delhi last week, will launch its Chennai `Dyna Fares' of Rs.500-plus taxes, from September 5. The managing director, G.R. Gopinath, said the airline had flown 350,000 passengers so far operating 60 daily flights with a fleet of seven ATR planes. The ATR (turboprop) jets would link rural areas and trunk routes by Airbus-320 jets, Capt. Gopinath said the airline had signed for 11 Airbus jets of which five had been taken on lease. Of the six to be acquired, three had been taken delivery of. Starting September 5, the Chennai-Delhi-Chennai daily flight will be operated via Hyderabad. A week later, the airline will introduce Chennai-Delhi-Dibrugarh-Guwahati-Delhi and Chennai-Delhi-Ahmedabad-Mumbai return services, he said. On the `dynamic pricing formula' introduced by allocating 25 per cent of the 180-seater capacity aircraft, Capt. Gopinath said a `pricing bucket' starting ranging from Rs. 500 to 2,500 had been put in place. He said the first five seats would be sold at Rs. 500-plus taxes, the next five at Rs. 1,000 and so on till Rs. 2,500.
