This Day That Age
During question hour in the Rajya Sabha on September 1, the Chairman, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, advised a Parliamentary Secretary to adopt "the Katju device" in regard to supplementaries. When Dr. Shrimali, Parliamentary Secretary to the Education Minister, was finding it difficult to answer some supplementaries, Dr. Radhakrishnan observed: "You must adopt the Katju device notice." Dr. Katju, who was present, joined in the general laughter. Earlier, another Minister, Mr. Biswas, replied to a question by Mr. Valiulla, known for the large number of supplementaries he shoots, and told the Chairman: "When I came to the House this morning, knowing my friend, I gave him all my papers and all the information in my possession." Mr. Valiulla did not put any supplementaries.
