Himmath in lead

COIMBATORE, SEPT. 2. Overnight leader, Himmath Rai from Delhi, scored a five-over 77 but managed to hold on to the lead by one stroke on the penultimate day of the IGU-categorised Coimbatore junior and sub-junior amateur golf championship here on Sunday.

Local lad Siddharth Srinivasan and Aditya Singh of Delhi carded two-over to share the second spot.

The scores: Category A (15 to 17 yrs): Himmat S. Rai 229 (77, 75, 77), Siddharth Srinivasan 230 (80, 76, 74), Aditya Singh 230 (77, 79, 74). Category B (13 & 14 yrs): Fathebir Dhaliwal 235 (75, 79, 81), Rahul Bakshi 240 (81, 84, 75). Category C (11 & 12 yrs): Rommel Mujumdar 265 (91, 88, 86), Akash Vats 269 (97, 81, 91). Category D: (10 & Below): Rahul Ravi 173 (89, 84), Namit Gumbir 198 (97, 101).
