Six Indians for Asian championship

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 2. Six Indian players are scheduled to compete in the Asian tennis championship to be held in Tashkent from September 6 to 12.

Sania Mirza, Rushmi Chakravarthi, Sai Jayalakshmy and Ankita Bhambri among the women, apart from Vishaal Uppal and Sunil Kumar in the men's section will represent India.

The men's and women's champions will get a wild card for the Australian Open as part of the understanding between the Asian Tennis Federation and Tennis Australia. The winner will get $7,200 and the doubles winner will make as much as $3,100.
