Indian Immunological gets Iraq order

HYDERABAD: Indian Immunological Ltd. (IIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has received an order for 2 million doses of foot and mouth disease (FMD) vaccine from the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Iraq. According to a release, IIL was preferred over other international suppliers such as Vetal of Turkey, Merial of France and Bayer of Germany, on criterion such as quality, timely delivery and affordable price. IIL is the world's largest producer of FMD and was a leading supplier of animal vaccines to Iraq Government. However, following the outbreak of war, supplies came to a halt. With the new Government in place, it expects the procurement to continue with repeat orders.
