New chief for NCERT

NEW DELHI,
SEPT. 2.
Krishna Kumar, a professor at the Central Institute of Education in Delhi University, has been appointed Director of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). He will be in office for five years from the date he assumes office.
The appointment was announced after the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet cleared his nomination forwarded by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry.
Prof. Kumar was shortlisted by a five-member committee set up by the HRD Minister, Arjun Singh.
