CHITRADURGA, SEPT. 2. The District Congress Committee on Wednesday expelled 18 party workers in Bharamasagara constituency for alleged anti-party activities in the last General elections. According to sources, the expelled workers are said to be the supporters of H. Anjaneya, MLA from Bharamasagara, who was in the Congress. The list includes the names of taluk panchayath members, DCC members, dry land development board members and the block congress vice-president and members of various district and taluk level committees. They have been charged with working against the official Congress candidate who lost the election to Mr. Anjaneya. Mr. Anjaneya later resigned from the post of General Secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee to join Janata Dal (United). M.G. Sadashivappa, General Secretary, District Congress Committee, said R. Manjunatha, President, District Congress Committee, had taken a serious view of the matter and expelled the workers from primary membership of the party on the recommendation of the block congress president and the defeated candidate.
