Meenakshi sets two new meet marks

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 2. Meenakshi Tokas of Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (IGIPESS), set two new meet records in the 200m and 400m individual medley events of the 44th Delhi University inter-college swimming championship at the Talkatora Complex here on Thursday.

Meenakshi won the 200m IM in 2 minutes 49.11 seconds, beating the 11-year-old record of Pallavi Dutta (2:50.21). In the 400m IM, Meenakshi timed 6 minutes 05.37, bettering Rakhi Mehra's 6:09.24 set in 2000.

The meet concluded on Thursday with St. Stephen's College winning both the men's and women's titles. Sri Venkateswara College finished runner-up in the men's section while IGIPESS was second in the women's section.
