MALAPPURAM, SEPT. 2. The indefinite relay hunger strike launched by the Calicut University Teachers Association (CUTA) on the university campus demanding that the Vice-Chancellor, Syed Iqbal Hasnain, reinstate K. Kunhikrishnan as Director of the School of Distance Education, entered the second day today. The Head of Department of Psychology, John Baby, and the CUTA president, P. Mohanan, staged the hunger strike in front of the administrative block of the university today. The CUTA general secretary, T.M. Vasudevan, and the former secretary, R. Surendran, led the strike on Wednesday. The office-bearers said the teachers would continue their agitation till Prof. Kunhikrishnan was reinstated. They demanded that the university comply with the verdict of the Kerala High Court.
