Arrest stayed

NEW DELHI,
SEPT. 2.
A Delhi court today stayed till September 10 the arrest of the Indian Meteorological Department Director-General, S.K. Srivastava, in the case of alleged rape and harassment of a 35-year-old woman. The case was registered at the R.K. Puram police station here on August 27.
Directing police not to arrest Mr. Srivastava till September 10, the Additional Sessions Judge, Aruna Suresh, instructed the accused to cooperate with the investigating officer in the probe.
The order came on an anticipatory bail application moved by Mr. Srivastava, who assured the court that he would cooperate with the investigating officer.
Ms. Suresh will take up his application for hearing on September 10.
