In another incident, a farmer, V. Kanakaiah (42), consumed sleeping pills at Sriramulapalli village of Koheda mandal on Thursday night, unable to clear debts and for allegedly being humiliated by a moneylender. The police said Kanakaiah owned three acres of land and incurred huge losses due to crop failure. He ran into debts amounting to Rs. 85,000.
