Robert bats well

KOCHI, SEPT. 4. An unbeaten half century by Robert Fernandez (77 not out) enabled EDCA (under-19) post a respectable 226 for nine against Kochin Refineries Limited at the end of the first day's play in the final of the 16th KTR Varma Memorial cricket tournament at the KRL Oval here on Saturday.

Robert held the innings together with his resolute knock as wickets fell around him. For KRL Jayaraj (four for 66) and Prasanth Parameswaran (three for 42) shared the spoils.

The scores: EDCA (under-19) 226 for nine in 95 overs (Robert Fernandez 77 n.o., Jayaraj four for 66, Prasanth Parameswaran three for 42) v KRL.
