BANGALORE, SEPT. 4. A three-member gang attacked two farmers and robbed them of Rs. 9,500 in cash and two mobile phones in Kalasipalya police station limits on Friday night. The police said Chandra and Chandrashekar of Agara had come to Siddaiah Road to get a goods vehicle repaired. Around 10 p.m. while they were standing near a garage, off Bharath junction, three persons accosted them. They threatened them with a knife and robbed Chandra of Rs. 8,500 and a mobile phone and Chandrashekar of Rs.1,000 and a mobile phone. The Kalasipalya police have registered a case.
Ornaments stolen
Thieves took away Rs. 30,000 in cash and ornaments worth Rs. 1.2 lakhs from the house of Ramakrishna Rao in Kaggadasapura in Mahdevapura police station limits today. The police said Mr. Rao and members of his family had gone out at 12.30 p.m. and when they returned three hours later, the front door was found broken and the cash and ornaments missing.
Electrocuted
A labourer, Chakrapani (25) of Tamil Nadu, was electrocuted at the Kempe Gowda Institute of Medical Sciences hostel building in 2nd Stage, Banashankari, on Saturday. The police said that around 7.45 a.m., Chakrapani and two other labourers, Karthik (17) and Lakshman (30), were trying to cut the branch of a tree with a crowbar from the 4th floor of the building. When the branch fell on a live electric wire, the wire came in contact with the crowbar and Chakrapani was electrocuted. While trying to rescue him, Karthik and Lakshman, also from Tamil Nadu, suffered burns, the police said.
Attacked
Two men attacked Raju alias Rajkumar (33) of `T' Block, Jayanagar, with soda bottles when he was walking near Ganesha temple in Devaiah Park around 10.30 p.m. Raju, who suffered injuries in the neck and chest, has been admitted to K.C. General Hospital. The Subramanyanagar police have registered a case and are on the lookout for Suresh alias Ragi and Krishna alias Kitti who allegedly attacked Raju.
Man killed
Sathyanarayana Reddy (34) of Rajapalya was seriously injured when he dashed his motorcycle against a road median near Hoody in K.R. Puram police station limits around 10.30 p.m. on Friday. He died at NIMHANS, the police said.
Four arrested
The Madivala police arrested four persons and recovered from them gold ornaments worth Rs. 3 lakhs. The police said the arrested, persons, Sreenivasa (27), Lakshman (27), Raja (28), and Ashokachari (35), had allegedly broken into the house of Varalakshmi, an advocate, in Madivala and stolen the gold ornaments.
