Mehta's team wins

MORADABAD, SEPT. 5. The closely contested progressive duplicate event ended in favour of the host team from Moradabad represented by Pankaj Mehta, Deepak Kothiwal, Mahender Singh and Col. S.K. Kapoor.

Agarwal's team from Allahabad (Indresh Agarwal, Sushil Agarwal, Govind Agarwal and B.N. Rastogi) finished runner-up. Pradeep Singh's team comprising S.K. Bandopadhyay, V.K. Agarwal, Mabood Ullah and Pradip Singh (capt.) took third place.

Dr. Sumit De and Ashok De stole the limelight having won the pairs event with a score of 121 points. The pair of De and De represented Northern Coalfields Ltd.

The Allahabad pair of P.K. Banerjee and D.P. Teijari finished runner-up with 119 points.

The next three pairs in the order of merit were - P.N. Jaiswal and J.S. Kaul (Lucknow), B.P. Singh and C.P. Agarwal (Meerut) and Pankaj Mehta and Deepak Kothiwal (Moradabad).
