This Day That Age
Mr. V.V. Giri, whose resignation from the Central Cabinet is as good as accepted, is scheduled to leave for Madras on September 8, when an official announcement about the acceptance of his resignation is expected to be made. Sources close to Mr. Giri said he would be requesting the Prime Minister to release for publication his letter of resignation which is reported to be a detailed one. Should that be done, Mr. Giri would not want to make any statement in Parliament. In case, there is any objection to the publication of the letter of resignation, the outgoing Labour Minister is likely to exercise his right to make a statement in Parliament. Mr. Giri's stay in Madras may be short and he will return to the capital to attend the remaining part of the current session.
